Since the reform and opening up, the China’s society and economy had a rapid progress, while people’s healthy level had a remarkable improvement. However, with the economic development and the widen income inequality gap, it was huge effects on residents problem that had caused wide attention from all over the world. The widening income inequality, especially the difference between urban and rural, affected the health of residents, which could go against the sustainable development, fairness and justice and social stability.Based on the relevant theories, this paper analyzed the influence of income level and income inequality to the residents’ health by empirical analysis. In theoretical analysis, there were human capital theory, health demand theory, income gap theory and health hypothesis been used to research the relationships between income inequality and the health status. In empirical analysis, China Health and Nutrition Survey (CHNS) data and logistic model would help to figure out this relationship.Empirical research shows that:it was not only the urban and rural difference, but also the gender and occupation could impact the income inequality of the residents’ health. There is a positive correlation between the level of income and the residents’ health, namely the lower or higher income could make healthy condition worse or better. The negative correlation would be found in income inequality and the health, and the more influence was pressed on the rural than urban. The regional difference showed that the middle and western of China was weaker than eastern and northern in residents’health, and the diversity in one region could depart into province. Male’s healthy condition was better than female’s. Better occupation had the better health also found in conclusion. Some other factors, like ageing, low-education, chronic disease, and non-Medicare insurance also led a worse healthy condition in some kinds. The household numbers, only to urban residents, had advantage in healthy condition. Finally, the suggestions and policy that could help the government improve the situation was at the last of the paper.
