Objective: To acquire individual adiposity rebound(AR) age of Xinjiang 3~6 years old children, analysis relationship between the time children’s individual AR happened and overweight/obesity, study the related factors affecting early individual AR, to explore predictive value of AR age on childhood obesity and health significance, to take effective intervention measures on time and provide scientific basis for early prevention of childhood obesity. Methods: The study is part of the National Natural Science Foundation of China(81260440).Stratified cluster random sampling was conducted to select 3~9 years old children(n=5 992) in the early stage of the study in four areas of Xinjiang in 2014.The children were measured growth index and group AR age was caculated as 4.80 years. The children less than 7 years old were measured height, weight and tracked BMI changes in April and October twice a year, were traced for three times totally in this follow-up study.Parents of the children were requested to complete the questionnaires to obtain the children’s situation of family, birth and parents’ BMI.etc. SAS 9.3 software were used to get individual AR age for each children by generalized additive model fitting, on the basis of group AR age, the children with individual AR age early than 4.80 years were definited as early AR age children(<AR) and whose AR age later than 4.80 years were definited as late AR age children(>AR). SPSS 17.0 software were applicated for Chi-squared test in BMI overweight/obesity rate between <AR and >AR groups, the rate change of growth index were represented as sx ? and tested by t test. The influence factors of the children’s early AR and association between AR and overweight/obese were examined by unconditional logistic regression analysis for single factor and multiple factors. Results:630 children were followed-up, including 236 Uygur children,231 Han children, 163 Kazak children while 309 boys and 321 girls. The individual AR mostly happened at ages5 among the children,<AR group of children for 248 people while >AR group of 382 people.Among the two groups, the difference of BMI overweight/obesity rate at two follow-up point had statistical significance(P<0.05).There were 10.5% of children in <AR group BMI from normal to overweight or obesity while only 1.3% in >AR group, the difference had statistical significance(P<0.01).BMI and weight per month growth rate were statistically significant(P<0.05) among two groups of children. Single factor and multiple factors conditional Logistic regression analysis showed that children’s nationality(OR=2.776, 95%CI: 1.444~5.336), high family income(OR=1.949, 95%CI:1.229~3.091), breastfeeding during first 4 months(OR=0.529, 95%CI: 0.302~0.925)were influence factors of children AR occurred in advance;AR occurred early was the influence factors of childhood overweight/obesity, the OR value under different models were 4.213,3.182 and 3.370. Conclusion: AR age have predictive value of childhood obesity, early AR will increase the risk of obesity. The results suggest individual AR is related to overweight/obesity of children, the BMI overweight/obesity rate of AR occurred early children is higher than children of later AR.The BMI classification of children with early AR are more likely to develop to overweight or obesity.Children’s nation, family income, breastfeeding during first 4 months are the influence factors of early AR.AR age can provide correct guidance for early intervention for children, so as to prevent the happening of overweight or obesity among children, promote health of children.
