ObjectiveTo understand the prevalence of overweight and obesity in children and adolescents in a district of Chongqing, analyze the influence of parents'related factors on overweight and obesity in children and adolescents, and provide basis for formulating effective prevention and control measures.MethodsBy stratified cluster sampling, two junior middle schools and two primary schools were selected from the urban and suburban areas of Chongqing. After obtaining the informed consent of students, the survey on overweight and obesity and its influencing factors was carried out.According to the height and weight of the students, according to the standards of overweight and obesity screening for school-age children and adolescents(WS/T 586-2018),the overweight and obesity were determined.Use epidata3.0 to build database and input questionnaire information.R3.6.3 was used for statistical analysis,?~2 test was used for single factor analysis of counting data, and binary logistic regression analysis was used for multi-factors analysis.Result1.Basic information:there are 8 schools(4 primary schools and 4 junior high schools in urban and suburban areas)in this survey, with a total of 4889children and adolescents.Among them,2523 are male, accounting for 51.61%,2366 are female, accounting for 48.39%;2329 are urban students, accounting for 47.64%,2560 are suburban students, accounting for 52.36%;2242 are primary school students, accounting for 45.86%,2647 are junior high school students, accounting for 54.14%;the age distribution is 9-14(11.57±1.65)years old.2.Detection of overweight and obesity:among 4889 children and ad olescents,764 were overweight, the detection rate was 15.63%(95%CI:14.61%~16.65%),460 were obese, the detection rate was 9.41%(95%CI:8.59%~10.23%),overweight was significantly higher than obesity(?~2=86.307,P<0.001).The detection rate of overweight in boys(16.81%(95%CI:15.36%~18.26%))was significantly higher than that in girls(14.37%(95%CI:12.96%~15.78%))(?~2=5.491,P=0.019);the detection rate of overweight in 13-year-old group was the highest(18.30%(95%CI:13.66%~17.78%)),and t hat in 10-year-old group was the lowest(12.39%(95%CI:10.12%~14.66%)).The difference of the detection rate of overweight in all age group s was statistically significant(?~2=17.587,P=0.004);the detection rate of overweight in urban students(16.75%(95%CI:15.24%~18.26%))was sign ificantly higher than that in suburban students(14.61%(95%CI:13.24%~15.98%))(?~2=4.220,P=0.040).The prevalence of obesity in boys(10.94%(95%CI:9.72%~12.16%))was significantly higher than that in girls(7.78%(95%CI:6.67%~8.86%))(?~2=14.327,P<0.001);the prevalence of obesity in the 10-year-old group was the highest(12.52%(95%CI:10.12%~14.66%)),and that in the 13-year-old group was the lowest(7.94%(95%CI:6.41%~9.47%)).There was a significant difference in the prevalence of obesity in all age groups(?~2=14.516,P=0.013).3.Single factor analysis of overweight and obesity:it was found that parents'overweight and obesity, parents'way of discipline,parent-child relationship, mother's drinking frequency, parents'smoking frequency and parents'electronic screen time had influence on children's overweight or obesity.4.Multivariate logistic regression analysis of overweight and obesity:11factors with statistical significance of single factor analysis were included in logistic regression model for multi factor analysis, and gender, age, school period and suburb were taken as control variables. The results showed that overweight and obesity of parents were risk factors for overweight and obesity of children and adolescents;Severe discipline is the protective factor for male students'obesity(OR=0.349,95%CI:0.119-0.814);mother's drinking is the risk factor for female students'overweight(OR=1.297,95%CI:1.006-1.668);father's smoking is the risk factor for female students'obesity(OR=1.560,95%CI:1.060-2.303);father's electronic screen time of more than 3 hours per day is the risk factor for junior high school students'obesity(OR=1.769,95%CI:1.026-3.139),and mother often Smoking is a risk factor for junior high school students(OR=2.716,95%CI:1.341-5.299);the longer electronic screen time of fathers of urban students is a risk factor for obesity(OR=1.624,95%CI:1.088-2.460),and the relationship between suburban students and fathers is generally a risk factor for obesity(OR=1.907,95%CI:1.239-2.881).Conclusion1.The prevalence of overweight and obesity in children and adolescents in Chongqing is 25.04%,among which 15.63%are overweight and 9.41%are obese. The prevalence of overweight and obesity in boys was significantly higher than that in girls. The prevalence of overweight in children and adolescents in urban areas was significantly higher than that in suburban areas. The overweight of 9-14-year-old children and adolescents increased with age, while the obesity decreased.2.Parents'physique(overweight and obesity),the way of education, the habit of smoking and drinking, the relationship between parents and children, and the time of electronic screen have an impact on children's overweight and obesity.Parents should adopt appropriate education methods to educate children, improve the relationship between parents and children, quit smoking and drinking, and reduce the time of electronic screen, which will help to reduce the risk of children's overweight and obesity.
