Objective To observe the treatment of continuous passive motion(CPM) on lower motor function in patients with stroke. Methods 60 patients were evenly randomized into control group and treatment group. The control group received conventional rehabilitation treatment, including physical therapy, electrically operated tilt table, the low frequency electrotherapy, acupuncture and AFO treatment; while the treatment group received conventional rehabilitation and CPM therapy. We draw the personalized therapy with “hospital-family-hospital” rehabilitation model, including three weeks in hospital and one week at home.During the three weeks in hospital, the therapists will teach their family members some basis technology which is good for family rehabilitation. The research include three rehabilitation cycles, totally three months. They were assessed with Modified Ashworth Scale,Fugl-Meyer Assessment(lower limb, hip, knee and ankle) and 10-meter Walking Time before treatment and three months after treatment. After that we observe the effect on lower motor function through the statistical analysis of the results. Results After treatment, the scores of Modified Ashworth Scale, Fugl-Meyer Assessment and 10-meter Walking Time were both improved when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and between the two groups, the scores of Modified Ashworth Scale,Fugl-Meyer Assessment and 10-meter Walking Time were much better in the treatment group with significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion 1、Using CPM can alleviate muscle spasms by stretch the muscle of spasm slow and continuous. 2、CPM can increase the range of motion of the ankle, promote the emergence of the isolated movement and improve the motor function of the lower limbs. 3、CPM can enhance the proprioception of the lower limbs, increase the contact area of foot and the ground,Furthermore, CPM can promote the standing balance and lower limb motor function, and strengthen gait of patients with stroke.
