Professor Xuan Guowei’s Medication Regularity Based On Syndrome Differentiation And Experience Summary In The Treatment Of Urticaria

Objective:To further our understanding of urticaria by the summary of syndrome differentiation and treatment of urticaria in Traditional Chinese Medicine, which based on the collecting and analyzing of successful cases of urticaria treated by Professor Xuan Guowei; explore a therapeutic regimen with more obvious and lasting curative effect to decrease the recurrence rate, relieve patients’suffering, and improve the quality of life of patients.Methods:Telephone follow-up came to patients with urticaria treated by Professor Xuan Guowei from January 2014 to December 2014 for screening out those who meeting the relevant standards to be included in the study. The medical records of included patients were collected, and then analyzed by Traditional Chinese Medicine Inheritance Support System(V2.5). According to the result of analysis, the medication regular and experience of Professor Xuan Guowei in the treatment of urticaria were summarized.Results:111 cases, as 645 formulas, involving 108 kinds of traditional Chinese medicinal materials, were included in the study, without cases of acute urticaria by coincidence. Medicinal material to replenish qi and to release the exterior used most. With frequency from high to low in order, the medicinal material used most are Perilla Leaf, Divaricate Saposhnikovia Root, Liquoric Root, Paniculate Swallowwort Root, Cicada Slough, Belvedere Fruit, Rehmannia Root, Lightyellow Sophora Root, Densefruit Pittany Root-bark, Largehead Atractylodes Rhizome, Coastal Glehnia Root, Membranous Milkvetch Root. According to correlation-rule, it showed 17 couples of medicinal materials that occurred most frequently, most of which used for releasing the exterior,dispelling wind, replenishing qi and expelling dampness. It brought out 9 new formulas.Conclusion:When it came to patients with chronic urticaria which caused by deficiency of vital energy or pathogenic wind attacking the superficies or both of them, Professor Xuan Guowei always took therapy of releasing the exterior, dispelling wind, replenishing qi and expelling dampness to dealt with such situations, selecting medicinal material such as Perilla Leaf, Divaricate Saposhnikovia Root, Liquoric Root, Paniculate Swallowwort Root, Cicada Slough, Belvedere Fruit, Rehmannia Root, Lightyellow Sophora Root, Densefruit Pittany Root-bark, Largehead Atractylodes Rhizome, Coastal Glehnia Root, Membranous Milkvetch Root etc. according to the specific circumstances.
