Objective:With 64-slice spiral CT examination measuring cardiac pulmonary veins diameter as the control group, measuring the pulmonary veins diameter by transesophageal echocardiography technology to assess the clinical value of two specific techniques in measuring pulmonary veins diameter measurements. Methods:A retrospective analysis of a total of 30 cases of patients with atrial fibrillation perform circumferential pulmonary vein isolation (CPVI) from October 2014 to April 2015. The patients were undergoing both TEE and 64-slice spiral Computed Tomography in measuring the diameter of left superior pulmonary vein, left inferior pulmonary vein, right superior pulmonary vein, right inferior pulmonary vein in 24-48h preoperation. The results were analyzed by usingappropriate statistical method. Results:The result of TEE shows thatLSPV:11.48±2.07mm; LIPV: 10.76±1.98mm; RSPV:11.18±1.63mm; RIPV:11.30±1.56mm, and the values measuring by TEE all are smaller than measuring by 64-slice spiral Computed Tomography, so the differences were statistical significant. Conclusion:This study result shows that TEE appears to be closer to the human anatomy pulmonary vein diameter than 64-slice spiral CT in measuring the diameter of pulmonary vein.
