Observational Study Of Acupuncture Based On The Condition Of Heart In Treatment Of Acne Vulgaris

ObjectiveTo determine the effectiveness of acupuncture based on the condition of heart in treatment of acne vulgaris.MethodsAn uncontrolled observational interventional study was conducted on human subjects who fulled the inclusion criteria. All the subjects were come from Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine, in the department of acupuncture and moxibustion and the center of traditional treatment. These subjects including 60 acne patients, according to the principle of randomized control, divided the subjects into two groups:treatment group and control group, each group concluded 30 subjects, and the treatment should take 4 weeks for 3 times a week. Giving all the subjects the based needling therapy of facial acupoints and acupoints which selected by symptoms, and treatment group added two acupoints of HT7% PC6, the based acupoints consisted of GB14、ST2、EX-HN5、 SI18、RN24、Ash、RN12、LI11、LI4、RN6、ST36、SP6 and KI3. Objective assessment was changed in acne lesion which counted with Global Acne Grading System (GAGS), and statistical analyzing of the change by using SPSS19.0.ResultsThe results showed that the effective rate in treatment group was 83.33% and control group was 66.67%, it had a significant difference(P<0.05). The GAGS score of each group before and after treatment revealed that acupuncture was helpful for the two groups (P<0.05), and the acupuncture effect of treatment by the condition of heart was better than the general treatment (P<0.05). There had no significant difference during the 4-week follow up(P>0.05).ConclusionThe skin lesion of treatment group and control group had an improvement in different degree, however, treatment group had a superior effect than control group, it suggested that the acupuncture which based on the treatment by the condition of heart was active in perfecting acne lesion. Meanwhile, there was also needing continue researching to maintain the long-term curative effect.
