| ObjectiveThis issue is under the guidance of traditional Chinese medicine theory, To observe the curative effect of needling the Mu and Lower Confluent Points of stomach, small intestine and large intestine in Functional Constipation and to explore an effective acupuncture treatment which has a safe and dependable effect and easy to apply and operate.Methods61 patients who met the requirement were selected according to strict diagnosis criterion, divided into the treat group of 31 cases and the control group of 30 cases. The treated group was treated with needling the Mu and Lower Confluent Points of stomach, small intestine and large intestine five times a week. The control group was treated with Polyethylene Glycol 4000(once a day,10 gram each time).2 weeks for a course, both two groups were treated for 2 courses. During the treatment, patients were required to light diet, exercise, and not to accept none of the traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine and other treatment which has nothing to do with the research. Datas were assessed and statistically analyzed before and after each course.Results1, By statistics analysis, two groups were comparable in the gender, age, course of disease, syndrome and other indicators (P>0.05) before treatment. Scores of constipation symptoms showed no significant difference(P>0.05) before treatment.2, After two courses of treatment, the clinical effective rates of the treat group was 83.87%, while the control group was 96.67%, which suggested that the two groups had a significant effect on functional constipation. After statistical test, there was no significant difference between the two groups (P>0.05), which suggested that the two groups had the same effect.3,2 weeks after 2 courses’ treatment, compared with the total score of constipation symptoms, the treat group’s scores were significantly lower than the control group’s, which was statistically significant (P<0.05). It showed that the treat group was superior to the control group in maintaining efficiency.4, The effective rate of Qi stagnation and Heat stagnation in the treat group were better than the Deficiency stagnation and cold stagnation (P<0.05). And the curative effect of both Qi stagnation and Heat stagnation were equal to each other(P>0.05).ConclusionsBoth treatments of needling the Mu and Lower Confluent Points of stomach, small intestine and large intestine and having Polyethylene Glycol 4000 had a significant clinical effect on functional constipation, while the treat group was superior to the control group in maintaining efficiency. The treat group has the best efficiency in Qi stagnation and Heat stagnation. |
