Objective:We discussed the different clinical manifestations of colorectal cancer patients with different component of mucin and signet-ring cell carcinoma.Method:We collected the clinical information of 1601 colorectal cancer patients in the first affiliated hospital of Guangxi Medical University from 2012 to 2014. Patients were divided into five groups as following:124 cases in the mucinous adenocarcinoma group (with≥50% mucin lacking signet-ring cell),28 cases in the partial mucinous adenocarcinoma group (with<50% mucin lacking signet-ring cell),10 cases in the signet-ring cell carcinoma group (with>50% signet-ring cell), 26 cases in the partial signet-ring cell carcinoma group (with<50% signet-ring cell) and 1413 cases in the classic adenocarcinoma group (with absence of either signet-ring cell or mucin). The clinical manifestations and pathological results were retrospectively analyzed.Result:The groups of signet-ring cell carcinoma, partial signet-ring cell carcinoma and mucinous adenocarcinoma showed an earlier average age of onset and distinct higher CEA/CA724/CA242 when compared with the classic adenocarcinoma group, also, the signet-ring cell carcinoma group, partial signet-ring cell group and mucinous adenocarcinoma group showed the higher tendency of lymphatic metastasis. Conclusion:The colorectal cancer patients with component of signet-ring cell or mucinous adenocarcinoma comprising≥50% mucin show more features of malignancy.
