Objective To discuss the diagnosis and management of central hyperthyroidism due to thyrotropin—secreting(TSH) pituitary adenomas.Methods A retrospective analysis of ten cases of thyrotropin—secreting pituitary adenomas clinical data and transsphenoidal surgery after treatment. The main presenting symptoms was diffused goiter and central hyperthyroidism. Imaging data shows microadenomas small adenomas large pituitary adenomas or giant pituitary adenomas. Nine patients were treated with transsphenoidal surgery, including one case of postoperative radiotherapy, one patient treated with medication.Another one treated with medicationResults The results show under the microscope total removal in sixcases,partial removal in three cases. Pathological display is TSH adenoma.Conclusion Early diagnosis of pituitary TSH adenoma and early to get standardized treatment is necessary, transsphenoidal surgery can get a long-term effect. Radiotherap or drug therapy for recurrent can be a secondary treatment. |
