Subjective:The aim is to survey the morbidity of mild cognitive impairment of aged people in elderly care institution of Taiyuan and analyze risk factors of cognitive function. On this basis, we formulated and implemented Tiao-She Nursing of Traditional Chinese Medicine intervention scheme for elderly people with mild cognitive impairment of pension institutions. To explore the effect of Tiao-She Nursing of Traditional Chinese Medicine on g Aged People with mild cognitive impairment in Elderly Care Institution. Methods:This study was divided into two stages: current situation investigation and intervention study.Current situation investigation: 260 elderly people from two endowment institutions in Taiyuan were selected as the research objects by the convenience sampling method. We used the general information questionnaire, ADL, GDS and Mo CA to investigate elderly people who meet the requirements of our study face to face. To study the level of cognitive function of the investigation object, analysis the high risk factors that lead to the decline in the level of cognitive function of the study object, and to screen out the MCI population.Intervention study: A total of 66 cases with mild cognitive impairment elderly that previously were screened out from two pension institutions in Taiyuan city as the research object. According to the endowment institutions, where the object of study isdivided into control group(34 cases) and intervention group(32 cases). The intervention group accepted Tiao-She Nursing of Traditional Chinese Medicine plan for four months. The control group received the disease related knowledge health education. The cognitive function of the two groups were assessed using the Montreal cognitive scale before and after the intervention.Results:1. There were 236 elderly people completed our survey, 69 subjects have been diagnosed with MCI, the morbidity rate of MCI as much as 29.23%.2. Single factor analysis results showed that gender, age, educational level is inversely proportional with the incidence of MCI, the influence of marital status, retirement before occupation, monthly income, smoking, sleep quality, cerebrovascular disease, taking health products, high salt diet, exercise, leisure, entertainment, children visit frequency and the geriatric depression scale scores on the prevalence of MCI had statistical significance(P<0.05), but drinking, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, diabetes, body mass index(BMI) had no clear relationship(P>0.05)3. The results of Logistic Regression showed that the influence factors of M CI were cranial vascular disease(OR=4.031, 95%CI=1.053-15.435) smoking(OR=5.974, 95%CI=1.156-30.866), depression(OR=2.867, 95%CI=1.103-7.452), age(OR=3.685, 95%CI=1.501-9.045), level of education(OR=0.361, 95%CI=0.189-0.692), slee p state(OR=3.605,95%CI=1.658-0.692), Children visit frequency(OR=0.254, 95%C I=0.095-0.68) and physical exercise(OR=0.279, 95%CI=0.119-0.654)(P<0.05).4. Before the intervention, two groups of subjects in the difference of Montre al each dimension score and total score had no statistical significance(P>0.05). A fter the intervention, the total score and four dimensions scores including ability o fvisual spatial and execute, attention, delayed recall, directional force of the interv ention group were better than those in control group(all P<0.05). In the intervent ion group before and after intervention, there were significant differences in langu age, delayed memory and total score(P<0.05).Conclusion:1. The prevalence rate of MCI among the elderly in Taiyuan nursing homes is in a high level, and the influencing factors are complex. So we should give some timely and effective intervention.2. Tiao-She Nursing of Traditional Chinese Medicine can delay the process of cognitive decline of mild cognitive impairment in the elderly, and have a certain effect on prevention and treatment of patients with mild cognitive impairment.
