“The scholars’ ambition is Tao”. Bear the responsibility that “set the mind for heaven andearth”“for the people” is the ideality of life of our ancient scholars. But in the feudal age of“home word”, the value of scholar for the state and people has different from the rulers’, inaddition to the vicious power of old noble and the hindrance of backward thinking. So it isoften difficult to achieve, just like Sima Qian’s said “sages and men of virtue always can’trealize their dreams”, then trigger a life tragedy. Studying the life tragedy of scholars becauseof poems and articles from Tang dynasty to Song dynasty. There are some scholars whocreated poems and articles to express their political opinions and ambition were appreciatedby the ruler; but there are more scholars who suffer their life tragedy because of these poemsand articles. Especially in the period of parties and groups struggle and social turmoil, orwhen they express their remonstration. Righteous scholars’ creation always prone to triggertheir life unlucky, this is the reason why the scholars suffer their life tragedy in the secondchapter. In addition the tragic fate of scholars has to do with the personal factors, naturalvigorous and unrestrained, arrogant, dissolute always prone to make them suffer tragedy.Theformer such as Bai Juyi, Su Shi, the later such as Li Bai. In fact, it seems that scholars have their tragic fate has todo with their creation in surface, actually it imply the universal contradiction between scholarand the ruler of our feudal society, the scholars’ ideal faith of collectivism and socialism forthe nation and people have contradict with the private feudal authority and inviolable offeudal autocracy.
