| To train the learning strategies effectively is the most significant aspect of the interventionist studies of Chinese characters learning. And the previous studies already proved that separate training type is more effective than the integrated type. The model of Teaching Spoken Chinese and Characters Separately in Sun Yet-sen University offers students with specialized Chinese characters class, which is actually a kind of introduction of learning strategies and separate training type. This paper reports the result of an experimental study conducted in a regular classroom setting, investigating the effects of two ways to train three kinds of Chinese characters learning strategies, one explicit and the other embedded. The study also investigateswhether these training can influence the learning ability of students. The findings show that the explicit type of training approach is more effective than the embedded type. And the training also has positive influence on the learning ability. And students’ writing burden is reduced after strategies train. |
