OuYang De, was one of Wang Yangming’s important students, contrast withWang Yangming’s idea of "conscience", he created more thoughts. This paper mainlydiscusses about OuYang De’s idea of "conscience", it not only inherited WangYangming’s "conscience" theory, but also explored his own unique understanding. This article elaborated OuYang De’s "conscience" theory from three aspects. Firstly, the paper discussed the origin, concept and the understanding from the before ones ofthe “conscience”, let we know what “conscience” really is, and then elaborates thecore meaning of Wang Yangming’s "conscience" thoughts. Secondly, on the premiseof Wang Yangming’s theory of “conscience”, Ouyang De put forward his uniqueunderstanding of conscience, namely “Unique Knowledge”,“Follow Conscience”,the so called ontology theory. Finally, it highlighted Ouyang de’s “conscience”ideological characteristics from the four aspects debate about “conscience” of OuyangDe and the successor of Luo Zhengan.Ouyang De inherited Wang Yangming’s "conscience", and certained the natureand moral justice of “conscience”, as well as the consciousness. He uses “UniqueKnowledge” to explain conscience, sends the conscience and cautiousness, stressesthe ontological status of “conscience” and its moral judgment function."Followconscience" is a kind of cultivation,“conscience” self-provided, perfection and notprofited makes itself has the ability to judge the evilness and goodness of the universe. But the "conscience" is easy to be fooled by selfish desires, we need to cultivate torestore the actual face of “conscience”. In the debate with Luo Zhengan about“conscience”, Ouyang De uses the method of “body with a source” theory toelaborate the strong relationship between “conscience” and “perception”, argues LuoZhengan’s inherits from Zhu Xi’s thoughts of “principles before using”, opposes tothe idea of taking “conscience is heavenly principles” as “perception explainsprinciples”. From the debate, it highlights Ouyang De’s characteristics of“conscience” more.
