The topic is based on the latest achievements which collect andreflect the study of the fonts of ancient text,split the fonts of ancientChinese character, and then sort out the elements which mean plants oranimals during different five period.On this basis, classify the fonts ofancient text according to their different function,divide them into"Symbol represent the shape ","Parts of associative words" and "Phonetic of phonogram".Respectively,list the Chinese character whichrelated to plants or animals during five different period of the ShangPeriod, Western Zhou Dynasty, Spring and Autumn, Warring States, Qinand Han Dynasties,then classify the elements meaning plants or animalsaccording to the book 《ERYA》 which classify ancient plants andanimals,list the number of each period, and explain their changeregulation, at last,draw the following three characteristics about Chinesecharacter:(1)In five different periods, the total number of Chinese character ofvarious types of components increasing in total,although a small numberin the first three periods, and did not change significantly, from thebeginning of the Warring States period, the total number increase sharply.(2) The function to form Chinese character of all kindsof different elements is different. (3)The Chinese character of all kinds of different elements makeup,the elements which act as “Phonetic of phonogram” account for thevast majority of members in each period.(4)Inherited phenomenon of Chinese words is becomingincreasingly apparent as time goes on.(5)The number of Chinese words inherited significantly increased,but the total number of its ratio in the next period decreased.(6)Inherited phenomenon of Chinese words is more evident in thewords which consist of animal parts.
