Gansu province, as one of the" three han ode ", is famous for the eastern handynasty cliff stone carvings Ode to Xixia at home and abroad. Praise tablet,whichwas completed with pictures and shapes is extremely rare in all previous dynasties.Possessing the very high artistic value and academic value, Ode to Xixia has attractedthe Chinese and foreign artists’ attention and favor. In this paper, the existing researchhas carried on the comprehensive and systematic study and analysis since the songdynasty Ode to Xixia of collecting literature, and then carried on the thorough andsystematic research to the eastern han dynasty cliff stone carvings of Ode to Xixia.The first part focuses on the cliff of the eastern han dynasty stone carvings Odeto Xixia of general situation with an objective, scientific and comprehensiveintroduction.The second part makes a comprehensive review to the the history of“ode”,which was a rock art in donghan dynasty at home and abroad. Therefore, thispart is an important part of the paper. The literature of the paper, referring to the “ode”,includes the relevant research starting from the song dynasty to the21century. It’s asummary to the research of “ode”, meanwhile, a supplement and continue ofpredecessors. According to the research result of various period,the author dividedthe “history of ode” into four time, including the embryonic stage, flourishingperiod,extended period and evolution period.The third part makes a scientific analysis on the researchers, the research time,the research content, etc, by the methods of concluding and listing in the “ode” ofdonghan dynasty. It expects to find the basic characteristics and laws since the songdynasty.Finally, the paper carries on an analysis and reflection to the history of “ode”based on a clear understanding to the happening,clues of ode history research. It alsomakes a series of deeper discussions to the stages,cross-sectional studies,currentsituations,the direction in future etc. What’s more,it puts forward an own opinion onthe research direction in future.
