In recent years, there have been several commercial film with low tomedium-budget got amazing and pretty good box office in our country. Gradually, thefilm market diverts its attention from commercial blockbusters to commercial filmwith low to medium-budget. Since the beginning of the Crazy Stone, every time therehave been low to medium-budget commercial films with superior movie box office torefresh the public understanding of medium-budget commercial films in ourcountry,such as Love is not Blind,Lost in Thailand,So Yong,etc. Compare tocommercial blockbusters, genre of commercial film with low to medium-budget ismore various,and present in certain features.That is superiority and characteristic ofChinese commercial film with low to medium-budget in development,and worthystudying.The study on the genre of Chinese commercial film with low tomedium-budget can be proceeded in three aspect.First aspect is the difference between comercial film with low tomedium-budget`s operation and blockbuster`s. Low to medium-budget films pay itsattention to audience segment and determine the target audience, using the Internetnew medium and innovative schedule arrangements in marketing. Those distinguishingfeatures bring about richer genre. Therefore, in the research of low to medium-budgetfilm typed creation problems become one of the important aspects. Most experts ofacademic and industry considered that make film in genre is an effective way topromote the development of Chinese low to medium-budget commercial films. And thestaff who committed to making film in genre began to appear in industry.More over, we need to analyse existing genres of Chinese commercial film withlow to medium-budget.Based on the audience acceptance degree for the genre ofcommercial film and the present situation of Chinese low to medium-budgetcommercial films can be seen that comedy is the most popular and mature type ofChinese commercial films with low to medium-budget, yet lack of comic spirit. Lovestory film`s market reaction is also good. It has innovation on the subject and thepattern, but need to pay more attention to the film content. Thriller movie has been ahuge number, because of the lack of new creative mode without outstandingperformance. Gangster movies presents a new look through commercial market inChina, but failure to form a new mass, and there is also a simple insipid creation.Youth film genre emerged in2013, its sales situation is gratifying, except that theme is shallow and deviate from the essence of youth.Last is the creative problem of Chinese low to medium-budget commercial films.The results illustrate that Chinese low to medium-budget commercial films have someshortages. The first is their genres are too centralized. Broaden the types of Chineselow to medium-budget commercial films, that is using different film of different g enreto test market, is necessary of sustainable development. This method can meet variousneeds of market and expand the market. In addition, these films have a problem ofuneven qualities. To solve this problem need film maker emphasis on script writingand enhance their works`competitiveness by a fascinating story. The last deficiency isthe missing of thought value. Film maker need to pursuit profit at the same time toimprove the content of the film culture, so that can provide the audience with the s piritof "delicious" and "nutrition" food.
