The Sound Organization And Structure Of Unsuk Chin’s Rocana

This thesis dissertates on the Rocana for orchestra (2008), which was composed by Unsuk Chin, a Korean composer. The analysis not only emphasizes organization and structure of music respectively, but also on the structure of sound, and what’s more, according to the characteristics of light to the present mode of music, explores the structure of the sound primarily.The thesis, written under the way that letter depiction combining with illustration, includes: foreword, text, annotation, conclusion, references and appendix.The dissertation is comprised of5chapters. Chapter1:The introduction of Unsuk Chin, including the background, biography, compositional periods and concept of musical, all above, is generalized briefly. And the macroscopic descrption is about the summarization of the Rocand.Chapter2:By the analysis of Rocand, it focuses on such as the core motivation, including the sound form, pitch organization, rhythm and tempo in several ways.Chapter3:The comprehensive and primary analysis is about the structure of music in the Rocana.Chapter4:The analysis is about the structure of sound and texture of Symphonic writing.
