English learning anxiety is commonly found in high school students, which may affect the healthy development of their education and psychology. In recent years, scholars have studied relevant aspects of English learning anxiety among high school students. However, most of the studies are theoretical and empirical, and, therefore, more practice-related researches are needed. Group psychological guidance is an effective way to relieve the mental problems in certain groups. It provides a new way to ease the anxiety of high school students in English learning. This study adopts the pre-post-test control group design from a psychological perspective. To test the feasibility and effectiveness of group psychological guidance in relieving English learning anxiety (measured by the " English Classroom Anxiety Scale ", namely, FLCAS), the study uses a series of group psychological guidance integrated with rational emotive therapy, relaxation training, psychological drama and other methods. As for the statistical methods, paired sample non-parametric test and independent non-parametric test are used.Conclusion:1. High school students represent certain foreign language learning anxiety as a whole.2. Before group psychological guidance, students’FLCAS score as well as their anxiety scores in each dimension show that there is no significant difference in English learning anxiety between experimental group and control group(P>0.05), which indicates that the two samples of experimental and control groups are homogeneous; and after group psychological guidance, the experimental group students’ anxiety levels are significantly lower than before (p<0.05), and there are significant differences in each dimension (P<0.05). while the differences are not obvious in the control group(P>0.05). Anxiety levels in the experimental group are significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.01), and there are significant differences in all the dimensions of anxiety level(P<0.05). The conclusion can thus be made that the group psychological guidance can ease the English learning anxiety of high school students to a certain extent.
