In recent years, with the development of translation, translator is regarded as the essential subject of translation. Translation scholars have studied translator’s subjectivity from many perspectives, such as Skopos Theory, Manipulation Theory and Hermeneutics Theory. While researches about how to exert translator’s subjectivity are limited. This dissertation plans to take the main characteristic of the translator’s subjectivity in the process of translation, translator’s subjective initiative, as the research object under the guidance of Dissipative Structure Theory which was put forward by Prigogine. The three conditions include:opening system, entropy leads to orderliness and fluctuation brings about orderliness. In this dissertation, several poems which are translated from Chinese into English are collected as linguistic data to discuss how to exert translator’s subjective initiative in translation, so as to realize the best translation which is the closest one to the source text.Translator’s subjective initiative concludes "understanding","interpretation" and "recreative art in linguistic form". Firstly, translator should fully and openly understand the source text in order to avoid misunderstanding or misinterpreting because of isolated and close mind. Secondly, the translator should introduce the connotation meaning of the source text, such as culture, allusion, the thoughts and feelings of the author, so as to make the confused source text transfer into an ordered one. Finally, Translator should insistently and repeatedly deliberate and think, and imagine oneself in the certain situation in order to produce thoughts for solving problems and bring inspiration for art recreation. On this basis, the most proximate translation will be achieved.
