This topic explores the famous works of the letter writing from all ages by tracing back the historical origin. It attaches great importance to the in-depth investigation on the chirography, form, artistic expression mode of the letter writing. The letter writing highlights the organic integration of the content and the form, and then states the emotion implied by the author. Besides, it not only complies with the inherent etiquette form, but also contains the expression of the author instead of the limitation on the form. Such mentality and form of the creation renders the current calligraphy with great enlightenment.During the investigation, the way of image-text proving is mainly adopted. Through the collection and sorting on the letter-writing calligraphy plate from all ages, and according to the related literature material, it makes conclusion and summary on the form and artistic feature of the letter-writing calligraphy. In addition, it adopts the ways of classification and induction, so as to make relatively accurate and comprehensive generality and resolution on the letter-writing calligraphy.This research starts from the practical form of the letter writing. Through the diachronic investigation on the interaction relationship between the form and aesthetic, it reveals the aesthetics of "letter-writing" creating form in the contemporary calligraphy creation, and its influence in the development trend of the current calligraphy creation. It is mainly embodied in the following three aspects:(1) weaken the writing skills, and highlight the "inaction" creation status of the emotion expression;(2) the expression of the calligraphy creation form under the influence of letter writing works;(3) utility function of the calligraphy and choice for the current exhibition effect.
