| The Amituo Jingbian Mural of DunHuang Mogao Grottoes(No.372) is a typicalstyle of tang dynasty painting because of the full composition, grandeurmodelling and elegant colour. According to author’s actual measurementin the cave, it’s1.61m high,2m wide, the east part is damage due toused to be a corridor, and the damage area is about0.98square meters.This article’s main research objec is the imperfect part, and recoveryit tentative. As the research object have no text, images, it need to usemany methods, such as style, image analogy with murals, sculptures, silkscroll painting, etc. If it has some error, please comment.The full text is divided into four chapters, the first chapter summarizesthe historical background and contents of the Mogao Grottoes (No.372).The second chapter tells the evidence of the imperfect part of mural,including the text on the basis of "the Buddha amitabha sutra says," andthe murals, sculptures at home and abroad in the same time. The thirdchapter is the core of the thesis, detailed exploration of the mural theimperfect part’s recovery, the research mainly includes: composition,modelling, colour. The fourth chapter is the copy of the incompletemural’s recovery and make it repaired.Based on the total record of DunHuang finished by DunHuang Academy. Itrecorded, there are13pieces of AMiTuo JingBian murals in tang dynasty,including:220,220,331,331,335,372, ect, one of the mostrepresentative is220th. I have many times on-the-spot investigation ofthe Mogao Grottoes, and collected a large amount of objective data, thatincreases the possibility for rehabilitation research. For more fullyrecovered, the author also found at home and abroad at the same time thesame JingBian murals, sculptures, etc., mainly including: BaiZi crick wat,worship hall, west wat4,17bilateral moral temple grottoes,116southrecess, changan tablet AMiTuo like recess, Japan fallon temple Jin Tangwall6, etc. These paintings and sculpture have great similarity with theMogao Grottoes(No.372) in the content and form, the author conformed withthe principle of symmetry by listing form and comparative research, andsummarized that the in the composition, dynamic and colour. In addition,the paintings that have been well preserved in the west part of charactermodelling and dynamic repair provides the most intuitive reference basis.About mural restoration copying and simulation is made, this is a processof practice, the author of the healing copy refers to in many aspects,such as materials, tools, techniques, verve, maximum predecessors closeto the original, makes every effort to reproduce mural former appearance,and learn from this process. |
