Event,Ritual And Construction Of Village Relations

In village society, a ritual activity tends to be a life event of village set up by villagers themselves. In this event, various relations in the village are constructed, and cultural and social capital is obtained through villagers’body techniques. Thus, it is necessary to embed the perspectives of "process-event" and body to understand the village ritual activities. The Naoshehuo in Changwang Village in the south of Shanxi Province is such a ritual activity occurring during the Spring Festival and the lunar February5th which is the date of the temple fair commemorating Baimajiangjun, which mainly includes Beibingliangbiao, Beihualuogu, Naoxiaohua and Zuojiao. Among them, Beibingliangbiao has gained more and more attention and popularity outside the village even become a kind of cultural resource in local as a result of the fact that it was listed in the items of the national intangible cultural heritage in2011, and the participants had been invited to perform outside for several times as one of the representatives of the intangible cultural heritage events. In the development of past30years, Zuojiao activity in Naoshehuo has gradually become a tradition in Changwang Village, which was set up to obtain certain economic income to support the expenses for Naoshehuo originally. What’s more, Zuojiao activity is kind of carrier so as to demonstrate and accumulate the participants’reputation or popularity in this village. On the one hand, to the one who has won to act zuojiao, this is a status symbol of possessing rich social resources in village. On the other hand, to the one who come to lift the palanquin, this is an opportunity to accumulate reputation and popularity so as to obtain the social capital.Based on the fieldwork and combined with the related research works, the paper is intended to do the ethnographic research. In the current increasingly significant tide of migrant labor brought from marketization, by setting such an event, various village relations are reproduced for the village collective and personal relation networks are consolidated and generated for the individuals. The original culture resource has been given some new social significance. Thus, it may be better to understand the villagers’ logic in action if we interpret the Naoshehuo from the level of social significance. The structure of this paper is as follows:The first part is introduction which introduces the origin of topic selection, related research review, main related methods and definitions of the key concepts. The second part is village context which analyzes the natural and social environment and villagers’ belief life in Changwang village from the villagers’life world, which constitute the life context of Naoshehuo. The third part is the origin and development of Naoshehuo in Changwang village. It could be found that Naoshehuo has its historical origin as well as the social significance in reality when analyzing the origin narration of Beibingliangbiao in naoshehuo. In addition, each side has increasingly attached importance to the Naoshehuo in Changwang village as the the culture resource since Beibing had been listed in the items of the provincial and national intangible culture heritage, which becomes the external power to further continuation and heritage. The fourth and fifth parts are description and interpretation of Naoshehuo activity from the point of structure. The fourth part analyzes the Culuogu, Xiluogu and Naoxiaohua as well as the process of village relation construction mainly from the characters of competion and amusement. The fifth part introduces the Zuojiao activity specifically as a basis of analyzing the process of producing the interpersonal relationship to individuals in village. The last part is conclusion summarizing the the research idea and the basic conclusion of this article briefly. The Naoshehuo in Changwang village is a life event set up by villagers which is used for getting more cultural and social capital for participants through body techniques.
