A Study On The Differences Of Population Distribution Of Shanxi Province In The Qing Dynasty

The geographical environment of Shanxi Province is very special and different. The Fen river valley of in middle of Shanxi, the wild goose gate mountain in north of Shanxi, the Yuncheng basin in south of Shanxi and the two mountains of east and west-the Taihang mountains and Lvliang mountains, that a natural divided into nine large pieces of different geographical areas. According to different geographical features of YanBei region, Fen river valley and Yuncheng basin, and three areas in the Qing dynasty the corresponding administrative divisions, namely Pu state, Fen state and Shuoping state in ancient and modern map matching, further screen out Zuoyun county, Youyu county, Pinglu county, Pingyao county, Jiexiu county, Fenyang county, Yongji county, Linjin county and Yishi county, nine counties as the research object. The author from the government records extracted areas, populations, arable lands areas, lands taxes and other a large of related data, to calculate the population density of these states and counties, comparative analysis to form the reason for the difference between the three areas of population density. Such as geographical environment difference, the historical evolution process, land output, business development, education degree, folk customs and other factors all have different degree of influence. Accordingly and then analyzes the inner relationship between population density and population quality that before the background of agriculture environment of history and geography of China.
