Research On Compound Ideographs Through Thinking Models Of Writing

This paper is aimed to summarize the existing researches made on theCompound Ideographs among the six classifications of Chinese characters through thethinking models of Writing, thus to reveal the genuine connotation of the CompoundIdeographs, as to give it a new definition.This paper shows that the formation process of Compound Ideographs is a microwriting behavior. The creating process of Compound Ideographs is the unfolding ofexpression order, so as to form organic structure of the “Idea”. This process is a “ZX”thinking process. The creating process of Compound Ideographs has both outsidestructure and deep structure just like writing, the outside structures include processstructure, logic structure and symbol structure, the deep structures includes repeatingstructure and contrast structure. The creating process of Compound Ideographs iscontrolled by Ideo-forming thinking to form the characters by selection andarrangement of hieroglyph. There’s three way to form the characters: narrative forming,logic forming and symbolic forming. We also conduct the analysis to aesthetic thinkingof Compound Ideographs. And it was found that the Compound Ideographs have thesense of flowing, rhythms and scene. Further, we divided Compound Ideographs intothree categories: Narrative Compound Ideographs, Logic Compound Ideographs andSymbolic Compound Ideographs. In addition, we also did research on a special categoryof Compound Ideographs, and reveal its thinking mode.
