| The Prairie Song Of Welcoming Guests was re-composed byMr.Altan-agula based on The Song of Mowing Grass from the film TheSpring of Desserts in2007.The Mongolian musical instruments Hur,horse-headed fiddles, and plucked strings are used as the main instrumentsand they turn to be harmonious with the western orchestra, which not onlyreflects the national colors of Mongolians, but also reinforced its artisticexpression. This piece of art is also the initial successful exploration done bythe composer to combine the Mongolian musical instruments with the westernorchestra, which presents both the personality of passion and charm ofhospitality and generosity of Mongolian people. The thinking and working onMongolian orchestra done by Mr.Altan-agula have made extraordinarycontribution to the unique place of Mongolian orchestra domestically andabroad. All the composing inspiration of Mr.Altan-agula comes from the vastand miraculous Inner Mongolia and the people living here. He madesuccessful exploration for the orchestral music of Mongolian feature byblending western composing skills with national style, and technically, heimplanted the thinking mode of orchestral music into Mongolianmelody bymeans of concord, melody, counterpoint, orchestration, timbre and etc.The composition, which has distinct artistic characteristic and prairiestyle, not only shows Mr. Altan-agula’s connotation of Mongolian culture, butalso brings a Mongolian tide to the writing and development of Chineseorchestral music and is considered an indispensable part in the history ofChinese orchestral music with valuable artistic and academic values.
