Comparative Study On The Mainland And Taiwan Network Novel

Development of the network novel is always accompanied by various sounds.Despite how to evaluate network novel has not reached a consensus in the academiccircles, but an undeniable fact is: Since April26,1991—when Struggle&Equalitypublished in The China News Digest—the network novels have mushroomed over thepast decades. The existing research is various, from the literary theory, whichdiscusses the origin of network literature, influence, development and future directionand its relation with new media, or focus on a particular cultural phenomenon, orfocus network literature industry which in the context and background of postmodern,but the study of the regional culture about the network literature is still absent. Inrecent years, with the increasing exchanges with the Mainland and Taiwanincreasingly, the culture also affects each other. Interaction and evolution betweeneach other are very profound evidence.This article embarks from the related theory of literature and art, systematicallycarding and comparing with the Mainland and Taiwan network literature, the networkliterature on both sides of the strait as the object, to analyze its reasons, and miningand summarizes its cultural significance.The thesis is divided into five chapters to discuss:The preface mainly discusses topic purpose and the cause of a selected topic,research method and the definition of the research object.The first chapter, from the perspective of the longitudinal, based on the time,defines the Mainland and Taiwan network evolution history of the novel. Apreliminary definition is: Slow germination period (1992-1996), the booming periodin Taiwan (1997-2002), following the blasts of the period (2003-2007) and theMainland leading period (since2008). Through the four periods on both sides of the Taiwan Strait network novel writers and popular style of comparative analysis,summarizes the characteristic of the period of cross-strait network novel.The second chapter from the horizontal plane of view, according to previousresearch, divided the network novel into three parts: sentimental novel, fantasticfiction, deconstruction and exploration of literary style. And in order to evaluate thecomprehensive of the Mainland and Taiwan network novels, author compared itssimilarities and differences also.The third chapter mainly analyzes the causes of the similarities and differencesbetween the Mainland and Taiwan network novel: The identity of the Chinese nation,the social and historical differences etc.The conclusion summing up the main idea of the paper, and the Mainland andTaiwan network literature present situation and trend are discussed, and providing asummary on the Mainland and Taiwan network novel cultural significance.
