| With the increasing international contacts to the world, the development of ourcountry’s economy and society brings higher requirements for the English ability of thecollege students. In the latest edition of Basic Teaching Requirements in VocationalCollege English Courses in2006, it is clearly pointed out that the focus of vocationalEnglish teaching should be the cultivation of students’ practical ability in using English,with special emphasis on practicality and major-related fields. English teaching shouldadhere to cultivating student’s ability to communicate in English in the process of carryingout the curriculum, especially their listening and speaking.In today’s rapid development of information technology, the further integration ofinformation technology and English curriculum has become the core of the currentvocational college English teaching reform. This integration has significant influence onhow to construct the English teaching model which is adapted to the qualities of thesubject and the learning law, and how to promote the teaching renovation of listening andspeaking. The rapid development of mobile communication technology provides a newopportunity to the renovation of listening and speaking instructional mode of vocationalcollege English. Mobile communication technology entitles students to learn at any timeand any place,and mobile assisted language learning has obvious advantages in manyaspects,such as extending learning time span and space, enhancing learning interaction,promoting learning efficiency and so on.Facing the reality of China’s current situation of vocational college English listeningand speaking teaching and factors affecting college students’ listening and speakingabilities, this paper proposed and demonstrated the construction of the blended teachingmodel of listening and speaking with the utilization of the modern educational technology,in order to create a good learning environment for students’English listening and speakingabilities.Based on the situated cognition and learning theory and language sense theory, thispaper has elaborated on functions of different theories to the blended vocational college English listening and speaking, and proposed superior implementation methods oflanguage learning under the assistance of mobile technology and the technical route of themodel. In the structure design of the model, the deep integration of teaching and mobiletechnology exerted a positive influence on the students’ promotion of listening andspeaking ability. In experiment, the control group and the experimental group werescientifically set and the data collected was analyzed, which proved the effect of the modeland promoted its improvement.The teaching practice has proved that the blended listening and speaking instructionalmodel assisted by the mobile technology in vocational college English can evidentlypromote students’ listening and speaking ability. This model has strong operational andpractical significance. |
