Speakers can complete their communicative intention through words and deeds matter between the lines in the reality of session. The specific analysis of “A Dream of Red Mansions” shows that Grice’s conversational cooperative principle and criterion can be used to reveal the session conflicts and generating motivation among people. In the specific context of “A Dream of Red Mansions”, The character of Granny Liu makes full use of all kinds of Chinese characterization for her aim of communicative purpose, which implements a specific discourse communication function well. The analysis of concrete corpus show that some sessions of Granny Liu which violate cooperative principle not only to follow the politeness principle, but also to maintain the face of session on both sides, which avoids making sessions awkward because of the difficulty of sustaining session in the grand view garden. Therefore, she adopted appropriate pragmatic strategies to deliberately realize her true session intention. Meanwhile, the dialogue process between Granny Liu and people in Jia Fu proves that the factors which includes psychology, identity and status etc of communicators will impact on session observing or violating politeness principles. The research shows that applying the theory of pragmatics can analyze the functions and deep conversation of literary the session effectively. It not only can help readers to understand the language symbol system of the literary text accurately, but also can reveal the connotation of a specific symbols within text, thus literary language can be analyzed with a new perspective.
