| As the end of world war Ⅱ, the contradiction between labor and capital which had been once covered up by the Great Depression and war since the New Deal became serious immediately.Under the international background of the Cold War and complex domestic situation, the power of conservatism had a rapid development in the United States,the Congress controlled by the monopoly capitalist class emerged a sharp right turn trend, represented by the following two important act, Taft-Hartley Act in 1947 and 1959 Landon Tim-Griffin Bill in1959 represented, the right of the union and the power of the labor class has been greatly weakened. Although some bills, which is beneficial to labor class,such as the 21Pionts Program,the Employment Act in 1946 and the Civil Rights Act in 1964,were still passed during this period, yet it ultimately failed to reverse the trend that the labor class is on the decline.From Harry·S. Truman to Dwight Eisenhower, the American Labor Policy on the early stage of the Cold War came to conservatism and pragmatism compared with the early radicalism and basically be used till today. |
