A Study Of Causative Typology In Wuming Zhuang

Causative category universally exists among human beings’ languages and also represents an important area of convergence in multidisciplinary study. Different language has a different way to express causative category, so different language owns its national characteristics.By going over the whole previous study of causative category and doing fieldwork deeply, it helps us to define the scope and typology of causative category in Wuming Zhuang. In the view of linguistic typology, causative category in Wuming Zhuang is mainly divided into two categories ?analytic type and synthetic type. From syntactic construction, analytic causative sentences consist of “ha?55”- sentence, “t?k55”-sentence and obligatory-sentence; synthetic causative sentences consist of factitive-sentence and compound-sentence. According to the position of verd and complement, the factitive-sentence is divided into VOC-structure and VCO-structure. Then their syntactic and semantic features are fully investigated. Any syntactic structure of causative category has a great commonality on semantic expression? causative category includes two parts-the causer and the causes。Based on above the summarizing and analyzing,it finally comes out the typology features of causative category and explores the typology features of causative sign and causative structures’ development. From the analysis in such aspects as semantic change, syntactic position and sound reduction, the author holds the opinion that the mean of the forming of causative sign in Wuming Zhuang mainly depends on grammaticalization. The author deduces the order of causative typologies’ appearance from the study of linguistic typology and grammaticalization ? “ha?55”-sentence and“t?k55”-sentence appeared firstly; then VOC-structure was formed byexpressing the causative meaning; VOC-structure began to change under the pressure of contacting with Chinese and grammaticalization which leads to many relevant structures’ appearance. So far, the author hasn’t find the special study of the typology analysis of causative category, so this paper not only meets the need of the study of language ontology, but also helps to teach the second language and translate national languages.
