The Vantity And Entity In Chinese Paintings

Abstract:Too Te Ching says, " Tao gives birth to one, one to two, two to three, and three to the universe." Ying and yan, stillness and movement, vanity and entity, constructs the world.In particular, vanity and entity, they are the origin of all changes and the universe. The reflection of vanity and entity can be found everywhere in the field of art, especially in Chinese paintings. All techniques used in Chinese paintings stems out from the unity of opposites between them.In view of the guiding significance of vanity and entity to Chinese ink painting, the author chose the expression of vanity and entity in Chinese ink painting and the influence of vanity and entity on Chinese ink painting as the research topic.By literature review, the author introduced Diagram of the Universe and the connotation of vanity and entity, listed the statements on vanity end entity in ancient Chinese paintings, analyzed the expression of vanity and entity in Chinese paintings and discussed the influence of vanity and entity on Chinese paintings. Only if understanding their connotation can we understand the various expressions of vanity and entity in Chinese paintings and get a deep insight of vanity and entity in Chinese paintings, therefore, they will be the focus of the thesis and will be illustrated in detail.Vanity and entity exist everywhere, and all the unities of opposites can be included in their relationship. The thesis mainly discusses the expressions of vanity and entity in the four representative aspects of Chinese paintings, that is, the layout, the shape, the line and the ink. With the cooperation of vanity and entity, Chinese paintings produce its comparison, rhythm and power; generates its vivid dynamic tendency; create limitless artistic conception and thus lead to the meaning beyond the Chinese paintings.Vanity and entity rely on each other. They converse and confuse, so thus appeal to spectators and strike a sympathetic chord in them on vanity and entity, which make the spectators know better about the painting and feel the painters’ emotions.Vanity and entity is the origin of the universe. It’s significant to study paintings in the light of vanity and entity. The understanding of vanity and entity will help improve the ability of appreciation and the ability of creation.
