Vocabulary is the building material of language and is the most difficult part to remember when foreign students studying Chinese.The words meanings also have developmental characteristics.Lots of words keep their old formations,but have new meanings. We call this kind of words "old words with new meanings". Old words with new meanings have their advantages.They can arouse foreign students interest in Chinese learning,they can also make them gain more words in short time to know more about Chinese culture.So old words with new meanings are deserved to be well-use materials in the process of teaching Chinses as a foreign language.But in the research we find the range of new meanings of old words in teaching Chinese is very narrow and does not have a specific teaching.This makes the teaching materials on the hysteresis and hinder the further development of the Chinese as a foreign language vocabulary teaching activities.In this paper,we start from "the new meanings of old words",make it as the breakthrough point. By studying the relationship between the old and new meaning of old words new meanings, Analyse the use of new meanings of old words in the vocabulary teaching Chinese as a foreign language and to explore the new meanings of old words in teaching Chinese as a foreign language strategies and methods.Specifically, the thesis is divided into the following six parts:The first part is introduction, mainly discussed the selected topic significance, the research status, research methods and the sources of corpus in this paper, shows that the main emphasis of the study and innovation points. Given the current world significance of new meanings of old words teaching Chinese as a foreign language ignore, further defined the purpose and significance of this study.The second part, for the screening of the new meanings of old words new YiLianSuo relationship discussed. Most of previous studies are carried out on the meanings of new meanings of old words list, in this paper the new meanings of old words, discusses the evolution of the ambiguous relationship between the old and the new, from which we can see the old just stretch out the path of the new meanings.The third part, the Chinese as a foreign language to the usage of new meanings of old words in the textbooks. Under the premise of the author in the study of two questionnaires found that students are more familiar with new meanings of old words and master degree, to prepare for the next step research.The fifth part, in view of the problems appeared in the process of teaching Chinese as a foreign language vocabulary now, from the perspective of the new meanings of old words suggest, and feasibility of the scheme is given.The sixth part, summarizes the research content, reflect the research insufficiency.
