It is a great issue that the keep our culture and value system has affected national survival and development with changing of culture in globalization. The development of China’s economy grew rapidly since the reform and opening up. Cultural construction is very urgent because the development of cultural was relatively slower and couldn’t keep up with economic growth.Ancient towns are important carrier of human culture which is precious heritage that left by ancestors, but today, protection and development of ancient town is facing a series of problems in today’s market economy which dominated by the capital gains. The traditional way of life has replaced by commercial marketing, next comes along with the original residents loss and the empty shell of the town.Now we are facing the serious issues about how to inherit the valuable culture and keep the spaces of precious intangible cultural heritage.The protection of ancient town has great impact of the construction of the psychological cultural identity.Cultural heritage can be translated to cultural resources, also can plays a positive role in inheriting and developing of the ancient town. This article start from the old city regeneration of cultural orientation, put forward to the culture as the engine and catalyst of urban regeneration, and the cultural industry as the core guiding the urban regeneration, what’s more this article has studied deeply of the history of ancient town protection at home and abroad by successful cases.As an example, we use AVC evaluation theories to analyze the cultural resources in Qijiang and propose the development strategies of the ancient town in two specific strategies: protection of cultural spaces and inheritance of cultural activities in the basis of authenticity protection.
