A Practice Report On Consecutive Interpreting Simulation Of “Leather Products Introduction”

This practice report is based on a simulated consecutive interpretation task of new products introduction for Smit@Zoon Company. Based on the interpretation task,the interpreter makes further analysis about important information and problems met in the interpreting process. By examining the simulation task, the thesis hereby aims to provide some certain references to related consecutive interpretation reports and exert practice value in this regard..This thesis consists of four chapters, including task description, interpretation,cause analysis and countermeasures. Chapter One gives a brief introduction to the task, comprising task background and task requirements; Chapter Two introduces the whole process of interpretation. Based on the interpretation video, the interpreter finds some mistakes made during the process, i.e., misinterpretation and omission;Chapter Three and Chapter Four are major parts of the thesis. Chapter Three analyzes main causes of these problems, i.e., unskillful note-taking, weakness in listening comprehension and limited knowledge reserve. Suggested countermeasures are put forward in the last chapter, covering enhancing note-taking ability, improving short-term memory and optimizing psychological status.
