Chinese-teaching in Thailand can trace its history back to the early twentieth century, but latter it stops because of change of the two countries. In1975, China and Thailand reopened diplomatic relations. Thai government began to loosen restriction on Chinese-teaching. Following the gradual improvement of the relations between the two countries, learning Chinese has become a broader trend in Thailand. Many schools began to set Chinese courses, In this case, Chinese course in colleges and universities started to develop. Chiang Mai, as the second biggest city in Thailand, it has a big population of ethnic Chinese. In 90s, the Chinese-teaching restored. At the same time, Chiang Mai Rajabhat University set up a Chinese major, it is the first Normal Chinese in Thailand, it is also the first Chinese major in Chiang Mai. The Chinese-teaching of Chiang Mai Rajabhat University now occupies an important place in northern Thailand. In 20 years, though its Chinese education is continuously improving, it still has shortcomings. The problem of curriculum, teaching materials, teachers, students has been a drag on Chinese education, many schools face this challenge jointly. That should arouse our attention, we need to change the problems in positive ways.
