But most of the studies are target at the migrant children living in big cities. This study focus on the migrant children who are living in the small but boom towns. This study discuss the characteristics of migrant children’s tendency to forgive,coping style and mental health,and tries to find out the relationship between them.Participants were from three schools in the town of Song Xia, two of the schools are primary school and one junior school. The survey data was processed by SPSS18,involving Descriptive Statistics,Independent Sample Test, One-Way ANOVA and Linear Regression.This survey investigated four main goals:(1)characteristics of tendency to forgive,coping style and mental health(2)characteristics of migrant children’s tendency to forgive,coping style and mental health comparing with local children(3)correlation of tendency to forgive,coping style and mental health(4)processes that how the tendency to forgive and coping style influence mental healthThe statistical result indicates that:(1)Migrant children have lower tendency in revenging others than local children, but there’s no significant difference in coping style and mental health in these two groups.(2)There is significant gender difference in the tendency to forgive. Girls tend to forgive others and punish themselves more while boys tend to forgive themselves and revenge others more. Meanwhile, there is significant difference in grade in the tendency to forgive, and students from one-child families are less likely to punish themselves.(3)There is no significant difference in coping style in gender except fantasy;boys tend to fantasy more than girls. Grade has significant impact on problem-solving and fantasy.(4)Boys and girls have no significant difference on mental health, but boys reported higher level of study satisfaction. There is significant grade effect on life well-being, study satisfaction and interpersonal harmony.(5)Tendency to forgive, coping style and mental health have different level of correlation. Coping style partially mediated the effect between tendency to forgive and mental health.This study researched migrant children’s mental health from the positive psychology perspect by studying their tendency to forgive help us to understand the migrant children’s mental health on the other point of view. And it partially testified the principal of how tendency to forgive influences the mental health in some degree.
