Prliminary Study Of Dawenkou-Longshan Cultural Town-Site In Dantu Wulian

Dantu Dawenkou-Longshan cultural site is located in Wulian, Rizhao City, Shandong Province. From 1995 to 2000,after drilling and excavation, great achievements on it have been made to confirm the walls and trenches of Da Wenkou-Longshan culture. Based on the results and achievements made in the previous archaeological drilling and excavation, the thesis attempts to investigate the development and evolution of Dantu Dawenkou-Longshan remains, including the research about pottery and jade town sites, and to explore the period dates of the remains and the changes of the settlement.and so on.Based on the research of Lingyanghe site, Donghaiyu site,Dafanzhuang site, Cengzi site etc and the new materials of Dantu site,Shihetou site,Daluetuan site, separating the transition period of Dawenkou—Longshan culture,the early-mid Longshan culture, the late Longshan culture, from the cultural presentation and the social stratification and the social structure to discuss the social vicissitudes in Southeastern Shandong.The thesis consists of six chapters.Chapter one is the introduction part. It introduces the background of the study, the previous studies in relative fields and the research objectives and methods.Chapter two is the summary about the features of Dantu Dawenkou-Longshan culture. It includes three parts about the town site, relics, remains, among which the study of pottery is the main focus.Chapter three is the staging and periods description of Dantu Dawenkou-Longshan Cultural site. Based on the comparative study of layer relationship and pottery forms, it divides the 10 stages and the 5 times of the Dantu Dawenkou-Longshan Cultural siteo The results show that Dantu Dawenkou-Longshan culture was created in 4800 years ago, ended in 4100 years ago.Chapter four is about the evolution of Dantu Dawenkou-Longshan Cultural settlement. Five stages are divided based on the analysis of the major relics. They are the central settlement of early stage in late Dawenkou culture, the late Dawenkou culture town, the early Longshan cultural town, the mid Longshan cultural town, and the general settlement of early stage in late Longshan culture.The evolution characteristics of the Dantu settlement are summarized.Chapter five is about the research on social vicissitudes of Dawenkou— Longshan culture in Southeastern Shandong.Divided into four areas, coastal area, the upper reaches of Wei river,the upper reaches of Shu river, the middle reaches of Yi river and Shu river,to analysis the cultural presentation in the transition period of Dawenkou—Longshan.After the analysis of the social stratification and the social structure, put the view the coastal area enter the ancient country of Dantu— Yaowangcheng in the transition period of Dawenkou—Longshan.After the analysis of he cultural presentation,the social stratification and the social structure,put the view the ancient country of Dantu—Yaowangcheng get development and move toward prosperity in early—mid Longshan culture in Southeastern Shandong.The last part is about the research of the social formation in late Longshan culture,discussing the reasons of the civilization decline in late Longshan culture in Southeastern Shandong.Chapter six is the conclusion part. It presents the main conclusion of the whole thesis, and the author’s views on the existing issues.
