In The Early Ming Dynasty Flower And Bird Painting Research

On the basis of the interpretation of the history, economy and other related historical background in Early Ming dynasty, this paper intends to discuss the impact of the social background on painting and elaborate the painting based on the writer’s own understanding. First of all, through arguing the influence of politics in Early Ming dynasty on painting, we could learn the organization and characteristics of Ming painting academy as well as the interrelationship among court artists and intellectuals. When political center was relocated, painting in southern China, which was repressed for a long time, developed rapidly. After the discussion of periodical divisions in Ming painting, this paper seeks to argue the influence of periodization on the painting. By a series of related discussions, we could better understand the painting in Early Ming dynasty and the function of flower and bird painting.
