| Notes of Liangzhou is a historical book which records the historical facts of the times of East Jin Dynasty, the Sixteen Kingdoms and Post-liang Dynasty. The description of this book, recorded by Duan Guilong, was lost in Song Dynasty. During the Sixteen Kingdoms period, there were lots of wars and political powers in the Longxi area in the northwest of our nation and the Hexi Corridor is the traffic thoroughfare between Central Plain and Western Region, therefore, the description of Notes of Liangzhou has great value towards the study of the socio-political situation in the region. However, there has been few research studies done on Notes of Liangzhou because its early missing. Hence, this dissertation will focus on the collating and further research on the basis of the former studies by other researchers. The introduction elaborates the research significance and summarizes the existing research situation of Notes of Liangzhou.The first chapter states the historical background of producing Notes of Liangzhou and the author’s information that has been discovered, carries on the detailed research about the title form and sorts out the records about Notes of Liangzhou in the ancient annals directory; the second chapter gives brief introductions to the content and features of existing five collections of Notes of Liangzhou; the third chapter focuses on the editing and correcting works based on the comprehensive comparative method, taking Zhang Shu’s version of Notes of Liangzhou as the original reference as well as other versions and research studies of the same area, and inserts annotations of the key words in the book; the final chapter comprehensively analyzes the academic value of Notes of Liangzhou based on the latest translation, aiming to provide solid foundation for any related future studies. |
