Today, the Internet has become the necessary tools for people to obtain information to solve the problem.People rely on the internet, with its rich variety of information and powerful search functionBut in vast amounts of information, in addition to the relevant information related to the problem solving, inevitably,there is lots of irrelevant and interference information. In addition, the information exists in the internet in the form of hypertext.Compared with the traditional text, information on the network is nonlinear, incoherent. The emergence of the Internet makes us access to information become very simple,But these characteristics of Internet put forward higher request to our information processing and use.Previous research on Web-based problem solving t mostly focused on information searching and selection.The focus of this research is information integration.Based on the goal, two studies are designed.Study 1 explored the influence factors of Web-based problem solving and the information integration’s mediation effect. Research using the "College Students’ Metacognitive Ability Scale", "Independent Cognitive Questionnaire", reading span test, information integration test and open questions to measure 91 subjects’metacognitive ability, cognitive independently, working memory capacity and information integration and the results of problem solving. The study found that:(1) metacognitive ability scores and metacognitive monitoring can significantly positively predict problem solving. Cognitive autonomy and capacity of working memory effect was not significant for the forecast of problem solving. (2) information integration significantly positively predict problem solving. (3) the information integration play a partial intermediary role between metacognitive monitoring and problem solving. Research results indicate that the metacognitive monitoring not only directly affect the Web-based problem solving, but also indirect influence the Web-based problem solving through the information integration.Study 2:On the basis of study 1, study 2 explored how metacognitive monitoring impact on information integration process. Study 2 use information integration task to explored the difference of EEG signal power spectrum values when different metacognitive monitoring individual(High/Low) process and integrate different types of information(necessary/interference/irrelevant information). We found that high metacognitive monitoring subjects’ task accuracy is higher than low metacognitive monitoring subjects. They are edge significant differenceThe interactions of hemisphere and metacognitive monitoring is significant. There is no significantly differences between two hemispheres in high metacognitive monitoring individual.And for low metacognitive monitoring individual the left hemisphere alpha frequency power value is significantly higher than that of right hemisphere. Interaction of Information type and metacognitive monitoring is significant, under the condition of interference information, low metacognitive monitoring subjects alpha frequency power value is significantly higher than high meta-cognitive monitoring subjects, show low metacognitive monitoring subjects under the condition of the interference intensity of brain activity.In this article, study one shows that meta-cognitive monitoring is an important influencing factors of Web-based problem solving. It can affect problem solving by influencing information integration process. Futher study found that the information integration of high meta-cognitive monitoring subjects is better than that of low metacognitive monitoring subjects, the main difference is the processing of interference information. High metacognitive monitoring subjects are able to distinguish the irrelevant information in time, and regulate the cognitive resources to monitor the interference information. The interference information condition needs metacognitive monitoring most, so low metacognitive monitoring subjects gave up to the distinction the interference information conditions.
