This paper aims to investigate the relationship between stress, emotional resilience and ego depletion among junior middle school students. Questionnaire investigations and laboratory studies have been used to achieve this. The first study is to investigate the overall situation of emotional resilience and daily stress of students in junior high school;and then we try to uncover the relationship between daily stress, emotional resilience, gender and ego depletion; finally, laboratory study was used to reveal the relationship between acute stress, emotional resilience, gender and ego depletion. The detailed empirical studies are as follows:The first study mainly focus on the present situation of emotional resilience and daily stress among adolescents. We use “Emotional Resilience Questionnaire for Adolescents”and “Adolescent Self-Rating Life Events Check List” to investigate the overall situation of emotional resilience and daily stress of students in junior high school and select subjects for the second and third study. The second study is around the ego depletion of daily stress among teenagers.Through experiment, we try to find the relationship between daily stress, emotional resilience, gender and ego depletion. Select subjects from Study1 and divide them according emotional resilience and daily stress. Measure the ego depletion by stroop task and compare the differences between each group. The third study is focused on the ego depletion of acute stress among teenagers. And try to find the relationship between acute stress, emotional resilience, gender and ego depletion. We also select subjects whose daily stress is around the middle level from study1 and divide them into high stress level group(speech group) and low stress level group(reading group). Using the TSST paradigm to create acute stress, participants need to speak off the cuff, and informed that their speech would be recorded and evaluated. Low stress level group is told to read a science article without evaluate. After speech or reading, fill in the ”Self-Report of Pressure”. Measure the ego depletion by stroop task and compare the differences between each group.Through the above research, this paper obtained the following main conclusions:(1)There is gender difference in emotional resilience among junior high school students, emotional recovery ability of boys was significantly higher than that of girls.(2)For the junior students, boys experienced more negative events than girls, so their feeling of stress is significantly higher than girls.(3)Daily pressure causes little loss of ego depletion, but the acute stress(such as public speaking, an important exams) can cause strong stress reactions among junior middle school students, and then lead to ego depletion.(4)The more negative events, the larger feeling of stress. But the emotional resilience plays a very important role in it. People of high emotional resilience can alleviate the impact of stress events.(5)The correct rate of stroop task is not a sensitive indicator of the measurement of ego depletion. On the contrary, the minus of reaction time is a good indicator of ego depletion.
