This research aims to figure out the effect of mental fatigue on sport decision making.First we have made a brief survey of mental fatigue and sport decision making, including their concepts and relevant research and related literature. In order to measure the ability of sport decision-making with a more scientific and reasonable way, we selected the e-sport players who play the sports in virtual environment as the research objects. After analyzing the selection of the measurement, we selected a simulated soccer penalty goalkeeping scenario to optimize the measurement of the sport decision making ability. At the meantime,we investigated the relationship respectively between the mental fatigue and gender, the accuracy as well as stability of sport decision making and subjects’ confidence level. As the goalkeeper, participants were instructed to judge the direction of the incoming soccer ball and choose the Left,Middle,Right.Based on previous research works,we chose 400 ms as a cut off criterion for the subjects’ response time. That is, the subjects have 400 ms to make response from the ball staring to move to the his right judgement of incoming ball’s direction. If this time was exceeded, the session would be regarded as a failed attempt. Next, out of needs of the implementation and taping the experiments, we designed, developed and evaluated a system called the Simulated Soccer Penalty Goalkeeping Scenario Sport Intuitive Decision-Making Testing System..The results showed that the reliability and validity of this system satisfied the experimental requirements. We used the Expert- Novice research paradigm and studied the subjects’ Sport Intuitive Decision–Making Ability under the Mental fatigue Intensity – Direction model. The results showed that:(1) For novice subjects, the results showed their poor accuracy on decision making, their judgements were both close to random probability whether they were under mental fatigue or not. Besides, low stability were obvious among novice subjects, and the results revealed significant individual differences when under high mental fatigue, novice subjects lacked objectivity in confidence when making decision. For skilled subjects, they showed certain accuracy and stability.Under high mental fatigue, they showed shorter response time than other subjects but low accuracy, which was significantly lower than the scores when with low mental fatigue.(3) For expert subjects, they showed rationality when making decisions. Under low mental fatigue, they showed shorter response time than skilled subjects but longer than novice ones, besides, their accuracy when under low mental fatigue was significantly higher than others which with high mental fatigue. And their confidence level was consistent with their accuracy.
