Research Of Tibetan Buddhism Temple In City

Guangren temple is the only Tibetan Buddhism temple in the Shanxi province, which was built in the big city of non-Tibetan Buddhism cultural background. The temple not only retained the cultural characteristics of Tibetan Buddhism in the development of history, but also constantly assigned to new functions at the pace with times. Ancient Guangren temple is an impotant religious sites linked to central and western frontier minority, but modern Guangren temple once again prmote Buddhist culture and unity Han, Tibetan and Mongolian nationnalities by holiding charity business activities. This paper try to explore a Tibetan Buddhist temple’s development pattern and the social effects based on the field investigation, and which contains the history,modern development and social function of Guangren temple, and analyzes by religion, sociology and other theories method. The first part of paper introduce briefly the social and cultural factors of Guangren temple’s building-background; the second carry on the detailed introduction of the present situation of this temple architecture and development on the basis of field invetigation; in the third part, analysis of the dynamic form of the temple through description of the troditional Buddist activities in the Guangren temple, and take "Xi’an Guangren Charity" as the object, probe into the forms of this organization and social infulences; the last part of tpaper trying to discuss the the temple’s effects on the development and function of the social above the summary before. Guangren temple has promote national unity and social harmony since the temple built, the temple has played an indelible role so that become a typical example of Tibetan Buddist temples in the big modern city.
