In the Ming dynasty the Tang-Song School is one of the representative in the development of literature. The Tang-Song School’s theory is formed on the basis of learning the previous theories. Han Yu is the most important learning object for Tang-Song School. This thesis is on the center of Han Yu’s and Tang-Song School’s theories, using several methods, such as close reading, combination of history and literature method and comparative method. It analyzes the background of the literary theories in the Ming dynasty. Through analyzing the relationship between the Tang-Song School’s theory and Han Yu’s literary theory, we will know the standard of the ancient Chinese literary theories. It is a great significance to reveal the laws of development on ancient Chinese theory of prose.The main part of this thesis is based on the background of the literary theories in the Ming dynasty and the Tang-Song School’s theories. It is divided into the relation of Literature and Dao, the theory on "Wen and Qi", the relation of Literature and Standard:The first section analyzes the background of the Tang-Song School’s to accept Han Yu’s literary theories from the politics and culture. The Tang-Song School’s choosing to accept Han Yu’s literary is because the crisis and oppression of the Ming dynasty.The second section discusses the situation of the concept of Literature and Dao which the Tang-Song School accepted and developed from Han Yu’s literary theory.The third section mainly discusses Han Yu’s and the Tang-Song School’s theories on "Wen and Qi". The members of Tang-Song School are representatives of learning Han Yu’s theories on "Wen and Qi".The forth section mainly describes the Tang-Song School’s acceptance and development of Han Yu’s Literature and Standard. The Tang-Song School advances the theories of "Having standards" and "No standards" and inherits the theory on "Yi" of Han Yu.In short, Han Yu’s literary theory is very important in the process of the Tang-Song School’s birth and development, so it is quite meaningful for us to study their relationships.
