Research On The Innovative Application Of Baoxiang Flower In Tang Dynasty In Modern Fashion Design

Baoxiang flower pattern is one of the most representative flowers and plants pattern in Chinesetraditional patterns, which carry the Chinese history, civilization and national spirit for thousandsof years. It has significant research value due to rich artistic language and vivid art performance.Baoxiang flower pattern was introduced into China with the Buddhism, which combines thenative and foreign culture. After the evolution of several dynasties, it flourished in the tangdynasty and formed the pattern of composition. As the Chinese style more and more popular,applying Baoxiang flower pattern in modern garment design, not only significant to inheritChinese traditional culture but also expand the innovation and development of the clothingdesign space. Based on this, the research use artistic modeling and cultural connotation ofBaoxiang flower pattern as point cut to explore the application of traditional Baoxiang flowerpattern in modern garment design.This research will mainly study from the following four aspects. First part of this research try toidentify the definition of Baoxiang flower pattern, based on the previous literature. The secondpart mainly analysis the Composition of Baoxiang flower pattern, including skeleton structure ofmain body, constituent elements etc. Based on the basic features and essence of art of Baoxiangflower pattern, this part will interpretate the cultural connotation of it. The third part Analysisthe representation of Baoxiang flower pattern in modern garment design and its applicationmethod etc, through collecting a large number of graphic data. this part also summarized fourkinds of innovation way about the application of traditional Baoxiang flower pattern in moderngarment design. First, it can change pattern color combination, in order to adapt to the modernaesthetic. Second, increasing the flexibility of its application, through secondary design ofBaoxiang flower pattern, including inductive deformation processing, Exaggerated deformationprocessing, appropriate decomposition and restructuring Baoxiang flower pattern etc. The threeis to combine Baoxiang flower pattern with geometric figure, in order to highlights the timefeeling. Four, in order to enhance the ornamental of pattern, it can arrange the pattern in the cloth to fit the body curve. The fourth part is the application step, according to the basic characteristicsand artistic expression of Baoxiang flower pattern in tang dynasty, it will be apply the innovationdesign method in practice.
