Common English course in higher vocational school mostly teach general knowledge and communicate skills of English, which are not enough for the further career. How to make the two suit each other became a problem. This essay--Vocation-Related Task-Based Approach to English Teaching in Higher Vocational Colleges:A Teaching Experiment, is aimed to solve it.This essay constructed a method which combined with the further career features of the students and analyzed students’current states via studying comprehensively relative theories and experiments, as well as the text books chosen. This construction analyzed all aspects of career-related missionary teaching path, and specifically analyzed the current state of them. Under the direction of this structure, the "career-related missionary teaching path experiment" has been coined and complied, along with a questionnaire.The object of this experiment is 100 students of the Pre-education & Visionary expression Major of the Art Department in Ningxia Higher vocational School, they are from two different classes, named experimental class and comparison class. The pre-test has been made prior to the main experiment, result of the questionnaire turned out to be that 65% of the students showed few interests to English,68% of them consist that the English course is as hidebound,71% of them English has no influence on the further career. According to the facts reflected from the pre-test, the experiments has been stared and continued for one semester.The data gas been collected based on the class-produced evaluation report, Comprehensive English Test Result, Pre and Post Questionnaire results and the during-class observation.The data explained that:1,the experiment could derive confidence of most part of the students.2,the motivation could be activated on the English teaching combined with art elements.3,automation could be improved.4,some students of experiment class made great improvement in career-related oral English, and this could rise their competition for employment.So, the author made advises as follows:l,the teaching aims and plans should be made according to the thorough consideration of the individuality and major aspects.2, when design the methods of teaching, the teachers should put the career features first as well.3, Extra knowledge of the major of the audiences and multi-field skills are needed.
