The Sociolinguistic Research Of Liaoyang’s Geographic Names

Place names are people in social life to natural geographical entity, residential areas and administrative districts were called, they are prescriptive language symbol by people and they are also the typical embodiment of regional culture. At present,in author’s hometown——Liaoyang City,Liaoning Province, geographic name is still lagging behind,on the sociolinguistic research is very few in Liaoyang.In this paper,starting from Liaoyang’s place names,From the language and culture of the two main aspects research and analyses of the Liaoyang above administrative villages of place names.To deepen people the understanding of Liaoyang social history and culture has positive significance.This paper takes Liaoyang city administrative division above the village palce names as research object,a total of 732 place names,through the research and analysis of Liaoyang region’s almanac、local history、history books and so on.at the same time,on the basis of literature to field survey on place names. After collecting date in an all-round way, combined with the relevant theory of social linguistics, reveals the Liaoyang naming characteristics of place names and Liaoyang placenames reflects social and cultural status.This paper mainly divided into five parts.The introduction part mainly introduce the general situation of liaoyang and research status and significance of Liaoyang place names.The first chapter from two aspects of syllables constitute situation and words constitute situation deals with the basic structure of Liaoyang place names.The second chapter summarized the characteristics of liaoyang place nameThe third chapter analyzes the naming of liaoyang place names. Mainly from the geographical feature, national migration, economic activities, military activities, historical activities, religious belief and so on six aspects analysis liaoyang place names and the close relationship between society and culture,Embodies the liaoyang place names in the form of diversification.The fourth chapter discusses liaoyang places reflected people pursuing auspicious and elegant of social and cultural psychology.
