This research discusses the influences of cue on retrieval and the mechanisms of cueing effect by experimental study. And at the same time this research uses eye-link 2000 eye tracker when discussing the mechanism of cueing effect. In study one, this research discuss the influences of verbal cueing on retrieval and the mechanisms of verbal cueing effect. Then, this research discusses the influences of dynamic cueing on retrieval and the mechanisms of dynamic cueing effect. At the same time, this research also discusses the static cueing on retrieval and the mechanisms of static cueing effect. The web-based learning situation is simulated by web-based learning tasks. The experience of participants on web-based learning materials will affect experiments results, so measuring the familiarity of participants on web-based learning materials is very necessary. There are two question types in this study, one is multiple-choice, the other is gap fill. The retrieval scores of participants will come from this two question types. The contents of this two question types are from cueing parts and non cueing parts. There are two theories which can analysis the cueing effect. They are cognitive load theory and perception processing theory. This research discusses the mechanisms of cueing effect in web-based learning based on these two theories. The experiment results suggest that there exists cueing effect in these three study. That is to say, the retrieval score in the experimental group is significantly higher than the controlled group when in cueing part. Meanwhile, the retrieval score of cueing part is significantly higher than the non cueing part in the experimental group. And perception processing theory can analysis the cueing effect in study one and study three, while cognitive theory can not. But neither cognitive theory nor perception theory can analysis the cueing effect in study two. Maybe there exist other theories to analysis this cueing effect. In all, follow-up study should be lucubrated in this field.
