| With the rapid development of global economy, the study on translation of English financial news is gradually strengthened. However, the study on English-Chinese(E-C) translation of financial hard news, a significant branch of financial news, in all its breadth and depth has not received enough attention. Based on the translation experience in channel of finance and economics of Huanqiu Website, the author puts the translation of English financial hard news as research object. By studying features of English financial hard news at lexical, syntactic and discourse levels, this thesis generalizes and analyses the translation problems of E-C translation of financial hard news and finally sums up several translation methods from the perspective of functional equivalence in this thesis. The author believes that functional equivalence, emphasizing content over form and readers’ response, is applicable to guide the E-C translation of financial hard news. The study shows that by adopting several translation methods, such as literal translation, omission, conversion, zero translation, and mixture of methods, translators are enabled to achieve lexical, syntactic and discourse equivalence in translation. This thesis can provide constructive help for translators to translate financial hard news faster and better. |
